Hi,

I have a quick question which is probably going to be stupid but need to get confirmation regarding the size to feed my 7" bearded dragon. I understand that you are not supposed to feed no bigger than the width between the eyes but for Dubias am i suppose to use with width of the Dubia Roach or the length of them? They are longer than wide so I wasn't sure which to use. The space between his eyes is about 1/2 a inch...

Would small be considered anything smaller than half of a inch wide?
We previously had a another bearded dragon that passed away within a week of getting it due to some health issues. I bought Dubias for the feeder. Since then they grew and I thought that they were too big to feed Ryder now but after searching this site I guess you go off of width rather than the length of them. If this true then there are some in there I can feed to him/her now. I was feeding Ryder crickets but hate having to remove them after. Its way to hard to catch them and I end up killing some of them in the process...lol.

If they aren't too wide they should be OK. Just offer them one at a time and see how well he chews them apart. The younger ones tend to be rounder in shape than the adults and most of those should be OK. I keep my roaches (and I kept my crickets) in cardboard tubes which makes it easy to just shake the tube into a cup with some supplement in it, shake the cup, and offer the dusted bugs from there.

Okay so I just tried to find the smallest ones in the bunch and he gobbled it up really quick. It was 3 chews and done. He seemed really happy after eating them and ran off his basking spot to try to find some more...I was worried about him choking on them. Its crazy how much they can fit into their stomachs when they are babies...

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
