I was starting to get concerned about my little buddy, Draco. He was only eating every other day or so and then not as much as I was told he should. I was gut loading crix. Day before yesterday i started dusting the little hoppers. That calcium dust is like dragon crack. He goes after every cricket I put in his viv. He even seems to look a bit happier.

My dragons typically seemed to do the same at first and now it really doesn't matter to them too much. They still have their days when they want it more then not though. What type of UV source are you using and is your calcium dust with or without D3?

OK try to be easy on me I am a newbie LOL. The UV Bulb is what came with the Zilla Bearded Dragon starter kit. It is a desert 50 20w fluorescent coil bulb. The calcium is repashy superfoods Bearded Dragon calcium plus. it says it has the D-3 in it yes. I was reading today and may have been using the uvb to long daily. I will be cutting back to 12 to 13 hours a day.

That particular bulb is not a recommended bulb for bearded dragons. I had a Zilla starter kit except mine came with a Zilla slimline UV tube. My first dragon Des, wasn't eating very well and the same day I changed out that light he picked up within the first hour. Also the compact UV's don't offer enough UV output. How many crickets is he eating a feeding period?

Now that I started dusting he is eating 15-20 at a time. 3x yesterday and twice today.

Okay, good. If you start to see any adverse effects like, not eating, staying at the bottom of the enclosure, lethargy. Then I would consider a light change. Just an FYI. Knowledge is power, and I offer it for free. :wink: LOL
