Whew! Finally feeding!

Hey some of you know I just acquired my first BD about a week ago. NOw I've been rather worried about my little one, it just didn't seem to be that hungry, like all of you keepers keep talking about, 50-100/day? mine would eat maybe at most five in a sitting and then lose interest, I tell you the tank was arun with crix, I was getting worried that my bd would be attacked by its own food overnite... so I swapped to feeding BD in a pot (with tall slippery sides so the crix couldn't get out), still BD would eat a couple and then scrabble to get out....

but today, finally the drought broke. I put BD in the pot with 10 crix, gone in a couple of mins! in goes 10 more snaffle snaffle... in goes 10 more! -well, BD got through 7 of those before losing interest. I'm so proud! I thought there was something wrong, I guess it means BD is finally settling into its new home.

Just thought I'd share this with you guys n gals out there.

Your beardie hasn't been eating well due to relocation stress. This is something that all beardies do went anything in their environment is changed. It usually takes a week to 2 for them to become comfortable with the new surroundings. But I imagine now you know this and have one heck of a little eating machine on your hands. :wink:

You were right about the crickets they are carnivores and will eat at your beardie if left in the enclosure...so good that your feeding the crickets to your beardie in a seperate container now. :wink:
