Where do you get your rock slabs for basking?

I built a basking platform a couple years ago but have since moved it to the cool side. I see a lot of you have stacked rock platforms. I would prefer something like that so it can retain heat better on the hot side. Where do you all get the rock slabs to stack. I've heard you can get similar rocks for aquariums but when I called the local pet shop they wanted $5 per pound which seems a lot. I really like the slate look but light sand color would work too. Your suggestions are greatly appreciated!

Check landscaping companies in your area, some may not sell small quantities but if they do I bet price is better.

I gathered mine from outside in remote rural areas.
