Where do you buy your crickets?

So far, I have just been buying my crickets from a pet store down the street for $1.25 a dozen. ($0.10 per cricket)
They also have a "Cricket Card" that gives you 12(?) dozen for $14. ($0.09 per cricket)
I've visited a few sites online offering roughly 1000 crickets for $30. ($0.03 per cricket)

Maybe it would be best to just breed my own?
Know of any great guides?

I buy mine from armstrongcrickets.com 18.00 per 1000 or 16.00 per 500 and 5.95 on 2 day shipping. this is to the 48 states though. easy enough to breed but smell really bad. I have to clean out the cricket tote every 3 days or they will stink me out of my house. I have gotten 2 shippments so far, and they have lived for a long time. I am going into my 3rd week with my last batch and just starting to get some die offs. But, I have thousands of eggs in my "hatchery" still have maybe a week before I see any babies, (if I see any hatch if I did everything right).

Dubia roaches are an easy bug to raise, and depending on where you live easy to get. they don't climb, they don't survive at temps under 65 and don't breed well under 85 and 45% humidity. Good luck.

thank you very much got the link. i couldn't find a site that sold under $30 including shipping for 1k crickets. i think I'll order some and get a bin for them. i don't think 1k will fit in my 10 gallon tank.

and ill be sticking with crickets for now. my mom would flip if i brought roaches into her house.

ya, I have a big rubbermaid tote for my last batch of 1000 crickets. worked great make sure to make a screen top or something, with the normal plastic lid, and drilled holes, I was getting condisation in it, had to go to a screen lid to keep them dry and healthy.

Ghann's is where I buy from, or Coldbloods.com. Both should be less than $25 per1,000 shipped. Coldbloods usually has the larva of the Dermestid beetle [ little fuzzy black caterpillars] in the box along with the crix.
