Hi there :D

I am new to this site, and am getting a beardie soon... I made the mistake of buying a regular 40 gallon tank, instead of a breeder, but for now since it is all I have I'm going to use it while I can.

What I want to know is how long can it stay in the 40 before I have to switch? or how long it should the beardie be before I need to switch?

Also should I block off some of the tank for a while? for a little one I feel it may be tooooo big

Thanks!

Hi there,

No you don't need to block off part of the tank. I guarantee you, your baby won't mind that it has more room than it needs :p

I'm not sure how long you can keep your dragon in a 40g, because it will just depend. But if you have the money laying around an upgrade to a 40g whenever you can would be ideal. Not needed, but ideal.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
