When to make the switch

Ive had apollo since febuary so... about 4 months now hes 12 inchs long. When do i make the switch from small to large crickets? Im buying 8 dozen at a time at this point (no i dont feed him all of them in a day... its 2 days worth) im having this debate with my bf i wanna switch him to large but he says it can be bad for him. So can i make the switch or should i wait? Also how often can i feed a beardie meal worms?

12'' is a pretty good size. He can probably handle large crickets. Just watch him to make sure he can chew them up well and if so, it should be OK. I don't offer meal worms to my dragon as they don't have much nutritional value. I like to offer silk worms, horn worms, and black soldier fly larvae in addition to roaches for the bug portion of the diet. The more variety you can mix in the better.

I tried a few and he got bloated and didnt poop for a day and a half is that normal?

Sometimes. Did they come out fairly well digested (well formed poop)?

Yea it came out looking like his normal poop and he ate them just fine i couldnt tell a differance between him eating a small or large one either
