When to Change UVB Tube?

Baldric has a Reptisun 10.0 tube in his viv. I've heard that it needs to be changed out after 6 months even though it looks like it's still OK because the UVB part will only work right for so long. I've also read that sometimes they need to be changed earlier. How can you tell if it's not working any more and needs to be changed out before six months? His tube is about 4 months old, but I'd like to know what to watch for just in case. Thanks.

Look for differences in your beardie. They might start acting different. Color lacking, maybe not eating as much. I had to replace mine after 5 months because I could tell it was dead. Daisy let me know by acting different.

Thanks! He's a glutton and has been acting normally, so it's a case of so far, so good.
