When should I start baby food

I moved my Izzy from her 10gal to her new 60 gal viv on Friday night and have been trying to feed her crickets out of the 10gal but she wont eat. She is on a hunger strike and is not to happy with the relocation.

I have managed to get her to eat small amounts of cactus pear off the tip of my finger but nothing else. She wont even eat a cricket in front of her nose dangling from tweezers.

I understand that this is quite normal after a move. My question is at what point do I start feeding her baby food. I don't want to back down from the plan to feed her out of the 10gal. It has been 4 days now and she is looking a bit skinny.

I wish I had phoniex worms. She loves them but they are only mail order around here and take a week to get.

If she hasn't eaten in 4 days, it would be a good idea to try and feed her some baby food just to get something in her. Just keep giving her baths so she stays well hydrated. You can also continue to hand feed her crickets, and when she shows she is interested in her food again, you can try feeding in the 10 gal. Do you have anything lining the bottom of the 10 gal feeding tank that she can grip onto?

thanks for your reply.

Last night she finally ate two crickets by hand :D
Before the move she was eating 15 in the AM and 15 in the pm!

She also loved the chicken&veg baby food. She must have been hungry. She was very cute - got all fustrated if she got some one her chin and tried to shake it off.

Also seemed to really enjoy her daily bath - so things are looking up.

Your right about the 10gal. I dont have anything on the bottom. I used to have papertowel when it was her normal viv but nothing right now. I went out last night and bought some shelf liner.

Without this forum I would be lost. I probably would have taken her to the vet and spent $$$ to find out that relocation stress is normal.

I just wanted to update this thread and put some closure to it. Just in case someone comes across it in the future via search.
On November 13th I moved Izzy to her new larger viv.
Now 17 days later Izzy finally is eating crickets out of a feeding container (her old viv).
I’m amazed how long it took her to come around and I wanted others who may be going through this to know that patients will pay off.
One interesting note. The reptile store where I shop suggested that even though the new viv had a perfect basking spot with correct temps that I should make sure the temps were correct right where she chooses to bask.
I watched her and found that she was sticking to her log from the old viv (the only item that came over) like a security blanket. The temps there were only in the high 80’s – low 90’s. I put a light directly over the log and that is when she really began to improve.
I figured she would move to the new basking area if she needed heat but this tip really helped.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
