What's wrong w his foot?

Apollo just finished a shed and has been very active in his cage recently rubbing on things trying to get the skin off. I was giving him a bath today and noticed some discoloration on his foot. I'm obviously concerned. Can anyone clue me onto what it is and what I can do about it? If it helps he's a Citrus Tiger, 8 months old and 17" long. Thank you in advance!

Looks like just a bit of scale trauma but nothing serious. You can apply Neosporin or raw honey [ unpasteurized honey is a natural antimicrobial ] If you use honey be sure nothing sticks to it and that no loose insects are roaming the tank.

Thank you! I put neosporin on it. Will his scales ever go back to pretty yellow or is he going to be scarred for life?

Hello,

It may take a shed or two but the scales should heal up & shed off hopefully leaving no visible scarring on him. Just like children, always hurting themselves somehow.

I don't have kids myself but I have 2 nephews so I get it. Boys will be boys. I'm just glad he's ok and I dont have to stay awake all night worrying about him. I'll keep applying ointment for the next few weeks and hope for the best. I texted the pic to the breeder today and she said pretty much the same thing so between you guys and her I feel rested knowing that he will be fine. Thank you again!
