Are your beardies very young? If so, it's natural for them to prefer live feeders over veggies. They have all that growing to do and need lots of protein in which to do it. :) Over time, that will shift. In the meantime, just keep offering veggies and plenty of live feeders for those fast growing young ones!

Here is an excellent food resource list for dragons; veggies, fruit and live feeders: http://www.beautifuldragons.503xtreme.com/Nutrition.html

Lots of great ideas to try. In general for greens, it's best to offer something like collard greens or mustard greens over say, lettuce or kale. Collards and mustards offer much better nutrition, along with a few other greens (see the above list).

Best of luck!

Ahh thank you. And yes they are very young, 2 months. And I give them all the crix they will eat. And they do eat their veggies every now and then. Thanks for the advice I can't wait till they are bigger :) I've been trying to find collard greens and mustard greens but I can't find them anywhere. Guess I'll have to look harder.

Escarole and endive are usually like pretty well, especially by babies.

Collard Greens can be found in the frozen section by the spinach. I bought 6 bags of this once thinking it was spinach and not reading the package. Prior to that I'd never heard of collard greens. BLEH

You can usually find fresh collards and mustards in the produce dept of most grocery stores... they are usually stocked side by side, but they are often NOT stocked with the other lettuce/salad type greens, but on their own somewhat.

Good luck in your search!

Thank you all. I must have not have looked good enough. I've even went to whole foods where I was sure I could find it. But could only find kale, endive and green leaf. I will go again and ask somebody.

My beardie tends to like romaine lettuce the best. Her usual salad is romaine, a few raspberries, peas and occasionally melon and kiwi. Any suggestions for sprucing up her salad? I'd get bored eating the same thing over and over, but she won't touch carrots, apples, any type of pepper or even strawberries. She tends to pick them up with her mouth and spit them out to the side.

Actually, romaine isn't very nutritious for them at all because it is mostly water. This site shows the best staple foods to feed in green print: http://www.beautifuldragons.503xtreme.com/Nutrition.html
