well i don't know what going on, but my new beardy pancake seems to be having his first shed starting at his head, but his face's right side seems to be deforming a little?
he looks to have a weird bump of inflated skin, kinda like a pimple though, and his eye seems to be watery. i have never seen something like this beofre, even on forums.
can anyone tell me what it is
the first 2 pics are for comparison. the last 4 show the blackish weird thing. my brother said he left about 4 small crix in his tank last night but i don't think they could of caused it. but when i got home from work i didnt see any crix, maybe he ate them already.

The tube.
For a basking bulb im using a 75watt reptiglow daylight light. his basking spot is about a foot away or a little less from the basking bulb, and he can get about 5 inches away from the uvb bulb, but he tends to get uvb from his hammock which is about 7 inches away.
I am getting the right temps he needs as well, checked by an accurite probe thermometer.

k that sounds good. my main concern is wear do you purchase your crickets? many wholesalers have quit selling recenly beacause of a disease affecting the crickets. being that you left crickets n the tank overnight it could be and infection from a cricket bite from a sick cricket. you should never leave any type of feeder n the tank at all they bite on your beardie and can cause major problems. i would see a vet for the eyes they dont look good at all.

How often do you bathe your baby? The eyes almost look like he could be a bit dehydrated as well, but that may be the camera angle.

I get my crickets from ghanns, my last order was made about 3 weeks ago and i still have plenty more. he has also lost his appetite but i think its because he's shedding. and yes, i have heard about the disease, what a plague.
i bathe him almost everyday, in lukewarm water.
and about the crix being left over night, well i yelled at my brother because i already told him not to, but i guess he didnt think they posed as a threat to him...

It looks to me to be an infected cricket bit.I would recommend getting the little one to the vet for opthalmic antibiotics as if it is a bite the inection will build behind the eye eventually causing him to go blind. Also I think it is a good idea that you bathe him daily for at least 20 minutes as he looks a bit dehydrated as well. How close can he get to the reptiSUN and are you dusting his feeders?

but can a cricket bite get to this type of state within like 12 hours?
and yes i dust his crix with reptocal. i also dust his dubias which is twice a week because i'm still waiting for the colonly to get bigger and expand.
but he cant be dehydrated, he always drinks water when i bathe him.

Yes when we are talking about the eye it is possible. What crix actually do when they need hydration is actually go to the eye when they are sleeping and take it from there so there is always a very immediate response to it.It sounds like you lighting is right and dusting so that is great.

Hello,

I totally agree with everyone else, it does appear to be a cricket bite. That can become very serious.
It is important not to leave any crickets in the tank with them for any length of time as they can quickly bite your dragon. A better way of feeding him is to get a large plastic tub or bin to put him in & just put a few crickets in at a time as not to stress him with too many crickets running around over him.
You can get some antibiotic eye ointment if you feel his eye is getting infected. If it is just on top of the eye area, then you can use regular antibiotic ointment. Do not put regular antibiotic ointment in the eye as it is not formulated for internal use, only external.
Were you planning on taking him to the vet?

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
