What would be the best feeder for me?

I have a year old beardie.

Recently she has been eating superworms. I just want something more healthy for her.. I tried hornworms, she LOVED them but they were crazy expensive. I tried the whole roach thing but I wasn't comfortable with leaving the heater on 24/7. Crickets are loud and stinky! I was thinking MAYBE silkworms.

But eh? Help me XD. I'd prefer if maybe I could try and breed whatever feeder you suggest if they are on the more expensive side.

Roaches are your best bet. You dont have to worry about the heater a heating pad doesnt reach a high enough temp to ignite carpet fibers

How warm do you keep your house? For only one adult dragon you will not need optimal breeding conditions for you roach colony to keep up with demand so you should be able to get by if your house is kept at least in the lower 70s. The roaches will still breed with out the heating pad just not quite as fast and it will take longer for the nymphs to mature into adults. So if the heating pad is the only thing holding you back from roaches then don't worry about it.

When you are getting you colony up to self sufficiency, maybe you can just turn the heating pad on while you are at home to get everything going as quickly as possible.
