I'm going to be building a 4X2X2 here at some point since my 50 gallon tank just seems too small for theoden.
anyway, I'm wondering what to build it out of? what is the cheapest? plywood? keep in mind this will be painted
Some woods are hazardous to reptiles. Google this to find out. I read that cedar is fatal for reptiles. Hardwoods are recommended and seem to be ok. Plywood contains glue and I've read that it will give off formaldehyde but can be sealed.
we only used one 4'x8'X3/4" oak veneer ply wood for a cage $47
measurements for the cut not including the sliding door frame
box dimensions:
24x48 cut in half - left and right side
18x48 - back
24x48 - bottom
22.5x48 - top
6x48 - top - front
1x48 -top back
Door frame depends on what you want to use. Our doors are aluminum c-channel top and bottom and plexiglass doors from home depot
hope that helps.
