What to expect for parasites?

I have a 3 month old beardie who I am pretty sure has parasites. (from Petco, never doing that again)
Anyways, I am going to the vet tomorrow morning to do a physical and then they are going to have me collect a fecal sample if they think she has parasites. I have never done this sort of thing before, so what should I expect if she does have parasites? What should I do to clean her cage? (I have heard that bleach does not kill coccidia) I am extremely worried and can't really find anything online about disinfecting cages. One issue I have is that my cage is one of those National Geographic ones that has the opening doors and it has plastic pieces and stuff. Most of the methods I have seen on the forums involve using hot stuff. Please help me

It's usually not to difficult to treat parasites and in small counts (especially pinworms) they are often untreated because a healthy dragon's system can keep them in check. First thing to do is test a fresh sample to see if parasites are present, and if so, which ones and how many. Pinworms are often treated with Panacur/Fenbendazole. Coccidia is often treated with Ponazuril or Toltrazuril. The vet will make a determination if needed. Sulfa drugs like albon can be harsh on a dragon's system though so be wary of that.

It's good to offer plenty of hydration while on meds to help the kidneys. Just drip water on her nose so she can lick it up if she wants a drink.

For cleaning, just spray the tank with vinegar and water and wipe it down to clean it. Then sanitize it with F10 sanitizer or a steam cleaner. Ammonia/water works for killing coccidia as does steam. I *think F10 does too but I'm not certain. Keep everything that comes in contact with poop well cleaned and sanitized to prevent re-infection.
