what to do at night

Hi ever since I had spike (which was since March 29 2013 at petsmart) the lady who works there is a friend of mine ,and she said that I use the white light at day ,and red light at night. Then when I went to petsmart a guy was getting his son a bearded dragon ,and asked me on the cricket line if they need light at night and I said yes but another employee said they don't so I'm confused , do bearded dragons need red light.

Hi. No lights at night. Beardies need complete darkness to sleep and a cool down period. If your house gets below 65 at night then a che is what you need otherwise he'll be fine.
