what materials to use

I'm going to build a 4x2x2(well actually I'm going to build 2 of them) and I was wondering what kind of materials are out there that I could use

I know the cheapest is plywood but plywood is heavy, is there anything lighter I could use that's also cheap?

Plywood has to be protected and sealed, the sap can hurt a BD.

Home Depot sells Melamine 4 x 8 sheets that most people use to build. 2X as heavy as plywood though.

Other options are Plexi...... glass........ hardwood plywood....... old cabinets........ MDF..... and I've seen a foam build that only had a hard wood front and glass doors, he grouted both the inside and outside and it looked really nice.
