So for beardies i'm well aware they need calcium powder, and another sort of power with it as well. I'm also not sure how much the amount i'm supposed to dust it's insects, nor how often. I am worried I might dust its food too often, although I don't know what happens when you do give it too much calcium powder I wanna be safe. Another thing I need to know is a good brand to use to dust their salads and their insects, that other beardie owners might recommend. Anyways thank you for reading, and every comment of help would be appreciated. :)

For me i have three different types, one calcium power without d3 and one with d3, and i also have multivitamins. For the multivitamins i dust the food on Saturday and Sunday. The calcium without d3 is used 3 times during the week and then the one with d3 i use 2 times on separate days. I use zoomeds calcium and i believe for the multivitamins i use repti-cal. It doesn't matter how much you put on them, usually just get three bags and put the separate stuff in it, just a few sprinkles should be good and then throw in the crickets and shake them up. And then feed them.

How old is your dragon? That will determine how often to dust.

As far as brands go i highly recommenced Miner-All Indoor from Sticky Tongue Farms. It's formulated with enough D3 to meet your dragons needs, but at levels that are low enough to be feed all the time. Normally you have to adhere to a strict schedule of using D3 and non-D3 powder, with Miner-All you can literally dust every meal every day and never have to worry about D3 problems. The other thing I really like about Miner-All is that it coats things really well, which means you only need a tiny bit per feeding. This means that a bottle lasts ages, which is always a plus in my book. As far as a multivitamin is concerned Herptivite is pretty much universally accepted.

I used to use Aristopet Repti-Calcium until they started cutting manufacturing costs and I suddenly found bits of iron (was magnetic) and large sharp shards of shell (the process oyster shells) in the jars and I had to start screening it before use ( I use a flour screen which removes all particles larger than 250 micron).

Soon got fed up with that , so have been using Zoo Med Repti-Calcium (NOT the VitD3 fortified version) for the last 4 years.
Is nice and fine and sticks well to the bugs - I believe it's colloidal Calcium Carbonate (so very fine).

If your dragons are getting sufficient UVB , you don't need to include VitD3 in their diet as they will use dietary calcium and UVB to make their own VitD3 in their skin.

I still use Aristopet Repti-Vite. It's used mixed 1:1 with Ca on weekends.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
