Hi, I was wondering what size watt bulbs I should have for my baby beardie, he is in a 50 gallon tank. Right now I have a 100watt for heating and im not sure what the other one is, but I heard that some lights can cause eye damage and I wanted to know what the best lights are for his eyes. Thanks!

Actually, it's hard for us to say what watt basking bulb you need as it depends on room temps and the distance of the light to the basking spot. Make sure you are using either a digital thermometer with long wire & probe end or an infrared temp gun though as those are the only 2 ways to get accurate readings.

The best UVB you can get in the U.S. is the Repti-SUN 10.0 strip fluorescent. Is the one you have now a coil, compact or strip fluorescent and what is the distance of it?

The coils as well as compacts, have been known to cause eye problems as even lethargy. They can put out a lot of UV rays which can be too strong but yet it only covers a very small area. A Repti-Sun 10.0 fluorescent would be much safer.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
