mine gets a Collard Green, Mustard Green, Turnip Green, Butternut Squash Salad, chopped up in a Ninja Mini Processor dusted with Calcium Powder. i sometimes throw in Blue or Blackberries, Pears, Romaine Lettuce, just to add different varieties... i would REALLY love to add Dandelion Greens or Prickly Pear to his salad, but i can not seem to find any store that sells those here in Miami Florida...

it is tough to get Beardies to eat their veggies... i always try to change it up to keep my little guy interested... he rarely eats all his veggies anymore... maybe once a week i will find that he ate about 80% of his salad, every other day he eats maybe a few bites... he used to eat more veggies when he was younger...

until last week i was using Crickets as his Live Feeders, i have now switched over to primarily Phoenix Worms because of all the amazing things i've heard...

any suggestions to turn him on to his salads again will be greatly appreciated...

My Harry is so stubborn with his salads no matter what I do to them!!! I did buy turnip greens last night and surprisingly he passed on his worms, WOW, and ate 1/2 of his salad. The only thing different this time was the turnip greens!! I think he might like them, knock on wood, we will see tomorrow what he does.

Let me know... because if so, i will add more Turnip Greens to my little guy's salad.

Never feed lettuce. It binds calcium and has no nutritional value.

Dandelion greens, mustard greens, collard greens...I've tried endive and he won't eat it.

I mix it with squash (usually butternut, sometimes yellow/summer) and once in a blue moon with carrots (since they should only be reserved as a treat). He also gets fruit as a treat sometimes, too. :) Especially when we go to the Farmers Market and the ladies want to give him berries. :)

I want to find cactus! I think I can find it at a Hispanic store, I need to check it out.

HLSLeO - I am from Miami, even though I live in San Diego - you can get it at places like Whole Foods.

Sierra and Zulu both exceed 16 inches snout to tail. Both have been a month into their new regime having supers, rather than crickets, as their daily, staple entree! When that change occurred, I noticed both my dragons appetite for their veggies increased. Their veggies of choice are turnip greens or mustard greens mixed with fresh, organic, grated, summer, yellow squash. They eat so much of their veggies that I now use their veggies to sprinkle their calcium and vitamins powder! Powder on crickets worked better than it adheres to the supers for any length of time. Calcium and vitamins dusted over their stacked pile of veggies is the best avenue for them to ingest their necessary powders alternately!.....calcium on weekdays,.....vitamins dusted on the weekends.
The breeder of my dragons, Tamara at Rainbow Dragons, raised my dragons on the same veggies from day one!! Nothing like it!! My dragons are very large for their ages! Something is working??

I found a Wholefoods not too far away that sells cactus pads. I just called the one near my house and was directed to a couple of locations that may have them. You can also google for Mexican grocery stores. They should have them.

Do you just chop it up in pieces? Do you have to peel it first?

He only took a few bites today :( I really wish I could find something he likes :banghead:

I live in Miami, FL too. I go to the Farmer's Market that's on Sunset and 87th. They always have good things to pick out.

I feed my girl turnip greens, collard greens and kale with the occasional pieces of cactus. I have to throw in a few waxworms, too. So she can see some movement. Thank goodness I've never had a problem with my dragon and veggies.

So.. I bought a cactus pad today.. and got a spike stuck in my thumb. Exactly how does one peel that?? and do I need to peel the whole thing? or just pick out the spikes? because Spike doesnt like the slippery inside. He ate once piece because I offered it by hand.. but would not take another. I offered him some collards that he munched up and then I snuck another cactus piece in and after that he didnt want anything else to do with veggies. Also.. i have issues getting Spike to eat veggies at all. He wont eat them out of the bowl.. he only eats them when I hand feed. I even threw a few worms on to entice him and he picked the worms out and walked off. I have also started an indoor garden for him.. mustard greens, arugula, green beans, parsley, and basil. Im great at keeping animals alive.. not so great with plants.. so I hope it goes well.

Thank You PudgysMom and Mummapinkham!!! ever since i started going to Whole Foods i have found Escarole, Dandelion Greens, and a whole array of awesome and nutritious greens for my little guy...

Ace's salads now consist of: Mustard Greens, Collard Greens, Butternut Squash, Dandelion Greens, and Escarole. (all of them organic too)

i stick all of these into a Ninja Food Chopper, and it chops and mixes them up into little bite sized goodies then i dust them with some calcium powder and serve... ever since i added Escarole and Dandelion Greens to the salad, he has been munching on it quite a lot... he seems to really enjoy the new additions...

Harry has actually been eating the escarole quite a bit as long as I throw in a little radicchio with it. I also have been adding a tiny bit of cilantro for flavor and he seems to like this mixture. Lets see how long it lasts. I think he is also at the brumation stage because he is being super boring, not even eating many worms, now that we have a tone of them :banghead: , and he is more interested in sleep than anything else  . Hopefully this won't last too long.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
