Also, if you have your dragon in an all glass viv, rehouse dragon for a few days in a rubbermaid like bin, remove everything from the viv, for washing or sanitizing, take some plastic wrap, and totally seal in the viv. Set that outside in the sun for a full 24 hours. The intense heat from the sun, trapped inside the viv will kill those mites and eggs present.
Once that is done, use a 10% clorox/water mix, and completely wash the viv out. Rinse well until no odor is detected, then air dry.
now onto the dragon. If you
bath the dragon in Dawn dishwashing liquid use only enough to make a light blue color, and you can see all the way to the bottom. Using a soft old toothbrush, gently scrub every scale, from tip of nose to tip of tail. If you bring the water level up to the head (make sure the ears don't submerge) the mites will all run to the top of the head, making removal easier. You will have to repeat this for several days checking with a magnifying glass (if you have one) to make sure none are hiding under scales.
Make very sure you rinse the dragon completely to make sure none of the detergent is present.
Hope this helps out !
