Well you can use the Calciworms/reptiworms/phoenix worms as a staple.. The other worms should really only be used as a treat as they have no nutritional value just fat.. I use reptiworms and crickets just to kinda give scarlett a little variety... www.beautifuldragons.com has some great nutritional info..

No nutritional value just fat????

Those that sell butterworms claim they are high in calcium. Others claim (including some people here) that silkworms are VERY healthy for dragons. Even wax worms, which get a bad rap here, have protein and moisture in them.
I'm pretty sure that any insect that is in larvae (worm) stage will be high in fat, so I don't agonize too much over it when feeding worms to my dragon. The best idea would be to feed all of the items listed plus bugs, fruits, and veggies. Variety is good.

Also the beautifuldragons website is highly respected on this forum and Veronica on the 'care of live feeders' page says:

Notes: Wax worms have a soft exoskeleton making them very nutritious, easily digested, a great source of protein, moisture, and beardies love them! I recommend wax worms over mealworms and superworms.

They are very high in fat... I'm talking more staple food wise.. The butterworms and wax worms aren't good staples.. Yes u can feed them but they should be fed occasionally..

Wax worms are very high in fat and should only be used as a treat supers and mealies are treats also. The calci worms, phoenix and reptiworms even silk worms can be used as a staple. I personally choose roaches they are very high in protien and have more of a meat to shell ratio then crickets.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
