Has anyone heard from ReptileUV lately? I ordered two Megarays on July 22nd and have yet to receive them. I've tried getting in touch with John numerous times on email and tried calling today. I just want to know when to expect them!

Absolutely no response.

So my dragon has been sitting under an old UVB lamp since the last one burnt out. I sent the guys over $100 for two new lamps and I'm starting to wonder what is going on over there.

Oddly enough my vet is having a similar problem. She's been trying to contact them about selling the bulbs in her animal hospital and setting up some reptile exhibits and has gotten no response either. That would be a lot money for ReptileUV and she's at a loss as to why they aren't getting back to her.

Anybody have any info?

I see you are in Irvine. I have an ad in craigslist for my MegaRay 100W SB that I received in May and used until mid July. If you are looking for a MegaRay 100W SB that appeared to be working fine, let me know. I'm in the Lake Elsinore area and will be traveling through Anaheim on Saturday morning.
I only removed the bulb because I was using it in a 40 gal breeder that was getting quite warm in the summer time. I resulted to a Reptisun 10 tube and a small wattage spot lamp for heat in the summer. At the pet fair in Pamona last weekend we purchased a 4x2x18" viv, so have no use for the MegaRay or the Powersun that we have.
No worries if you aren't interested, I'm just offering a way out of the situation you are in........

Sorry I missed your last pm John. I was traveling yesterday.

I'm just really wondering if I sent my money into the void. I can't understand why ReptileUV is suddenly so uncommunicative!

Same problem here. Got new bulb from them end of June after waiting two weeks, bulb burnt out after two days. John said he would replace. Every week same story "hope to send it this week." I'm going to ask for my money back.

Just got a rather long email from someone at RetileUV. John is no longer with the company. They have changed suppliers and are hoping to have a new batch of bulbs in two weeks. If you are waiting for a bulb try contacting them again, and I am sure they guy will respond. I have given them the two weeks, then if the bulb is not here have asked for my money back

Ahhhhh, that would certainly explain it.

For anyone else who is wondering why ReptileUV has been AWOL for the past month...a letter I received from them this afternoon...

Hello

My name is James and I'm the new sales manager/customer service person for ReptileUV taking over for John, I'm in this new position and my first priority is contacting everyone whose order is on back order. I understand it can be frustrating to order a product and then have to wait for it to come in, we also have been very frustrated by our manufacturers who tried to follow our designs but had a hard time keeping up and others who has worked with us to design and build the highest quality reptile lighting on the market and yet for years now they have continued to drop the ball when it comes to making these products fast enough to keep up with demand and quality.

We are not selling the old mega ray bulb anymore as the manufacturer could not or would not make them as fast as we could sell them its been an on going problem for years now that has been very frustrating for us and our customers of which I have been one for years as I help found and run 2 non-profit reptile rescues in Va. & Nc. and we've had to keep an extra light or two on hand incase we got a sick reptile in and the bulbs were on back order.

Bob the owner of RUV, a long time friend and fellow reptile rescuer has been looking for a few years now trying to find other manufacturers who could build his high quality bulb and its been hard but finally we have one and possibly more coming soon so we can reach the point where we'll never again be out of bulbs! This New Mega Ray bulb has been in testing for months now it's about 1 to 1 1/2 inches shorter to fit in the dome fixtures better and its been tweaked a little closer to the original design for better UVA output and in independent testing by Dr.Baines of the UV Guide (www.uvguide.co.uk) she likes the color output of this new light over the old one. Her full report will be out soon on the uvb_meter_owners group on yahoo groups and her website. Several hundred have been sent to expert reptile keepers for further testing as we speak so we can learn more and know its as good if not better then the old version.

Because we know our customers want the best for their reptiles and because we know some have been waiting a long time we are having this new bulbs rushed to us, it costs us allot more but we feel we owe it to you to cut the shipping time almost in half. I know you'll be very pleased with this new bulb and your reptile will love it too.

In a world of milt-million dollar companies who sell reptile products and are in it for the money, RUV is proud to be a family run small business whose roots started in decades of reptile rescue and rehab and it always reminds us the animals health must come first before profit. Quickly producing and packaging products that are barely tested or not tested at all but simply put in a pretty box and sent to a store shelf or a customers front door where it may or may not keep our loved herps healthy is not something we can allow.

We are very sorry for such a delay but the bulbs we were getting in were just not safe and we couldn't in good conscience sell them to others if we wouldn't use them on our own reptiles. It has been extremely hard to get manufacturers up to our quality standards but things are looking up now and should only get better from here on out. We also were not able to stock the Nutribac for a while but as of today our supplier says they are almost ready to fill our back orders so it should be here soon so that we can also send those out.

So I invite all of our great customers who have hung in there with us during this difficult time to stay tuned as we are excited to be getting in the New Mega Ray 100 watt SB bulbs! in the next 2-3 weeks give or take a couple days so we can hand test them before they get shipped out to you. If you've been waiting for our EB kits we also have an all new ballast box shipment coming in next week! Right now with it being summer time we have been recommending people get their animals outside for real sunshine as much as possible there's nothing better then that but we know it can also be hard to do that and work too. I'd be glad to help with ideas on getting your reptile some sunshine to keep them healthy until your bulb comes in.

Please email or call me if I can answer any questions or help you more and I will get right on it, being that your on back order you are at the top of our list of products to get out as soon as they get here, you'll be getting an email from paypal the day your product ships so you will have a tracking number as well.

Thank you for hanging in there with us during this difficult time it is very much appreciated

I got the letter, but haven't heard anything since. Getting pretty ridiculous, they need to get that **** in people's hand asap. This whole thing is doing some serious damage to their once good rep.

I agree, I realize they are busy but I have been waiting, patiently I might add, for a replacement ballast box for about 3 months now. I got a similar email about 3 weeks, or more, ago and the new guy promised the replacement ballast to be sent in a week but I've heard nothing since. I will wait to see how the new bulbs work before I order from them again.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!

Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
