What heat source works best with tiles??

Hello,

I recently changed my substrate to ceramic tiles and i wanted to know what kind of heat source would work best with the tiles... the temperatures in my room drops to about 55 at night... when i have the space heater on its around 68. My dragons cage is roughly the same. I was thinking about getting a UTH but then i read that they dont really work well with beardies, their more for snakes.. And then i read that cermaic heat emitters don't produce efficient heat.... If anyone has tiles in there tank, what are you using to keep your tank warm, espescially the tiles??? any other ideas would be greatly appreciated

It's a 30L tank, temps during the day are fine, although i wouldn't mind the tiles being a little warmer on the cool side.

The tiles in my tank never feel cold to the touch to me. As long as your temps don't drop below 60, then there is no need for additional night-time heating; I would guess that you don't like it that cold, either! If you do need the heat, CHE's work just fine.

What are your day-time temps? How do you measure them?

my day temps are around 100-105 for heat.. and around 75 for cool... i use a probe to measure the heat and a electronic therm. to measure the cool... im looking into buying a temp gun or a new set of thermometers just b/c i dont trust the ones i have 100%. personally, i dont mind the cold, it puts me straight to sleep at night. But im afriad that he senses the cold and thinks its time for brumation. he's only 5 months old and he shouldn't be brumating yet, but he's showing all the signs(sleeping like an extra 4-5 hours, eating less b/c of the more sleep). thats the main reason i wanted to find some way ti heat up the tank at night...

I would go with a CHE then. I think 5 months is too young for brumation, too. So.. I would do an overall warm up on your tank. Take the basking spot up to about 110 and the cooler side to about 80. Get the new thermometer and double check the temps, too.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
