What does the inside of the mouth color indicate with health

When I took my impacted baby to the vet last week, he opened his mouth and said it was very pale which indicated he was sick or weak but he was unclear as to details. He was pretty much telling me he wasn't going to make it and that was just another sign.

So now I can't help but look into all the others mouths as the gape and some are pinker and some are more orange. Could this indicate parasites or infection? Or possible anemia or something like that? Its really bugging me if anyone can shed some insight on the subject.

Hello,

The mouth being pale, is usually an indicator of them being anemic & dehydrated. That can be caused by poor nutrition, & or parasites.
Some dragons have a yellowish tint to the mouth which most of the time is simply pigmentation. However, it can sometimes mean liver dysfunction too.
Most bearded dragons' mouths here in the US are pink, which is the normal healthy mouth color.
