What does a Beardie bite feel like?

I've had my dragon for about 2 years now, and he's a big mama's boy. :lol: He doesn't like anyone but me holding him, but I'm trying to get him more used to my dad so while I'm away at college he can have more interaction (plus he won't be so nasty when I come back for summer).

But I was just wondering, what does it feel like to get bitten by one of these guys (if you've ever gotten bitten)? I've heard you'd probably need to get stitches from a bite, which seems... really miserable haha. Not that I suspect Sully will bite anyone (he usually just puffs a little and runs away if he's upset) but I'm just a little curious.

I've actually never known any beardie to bite, actually, now that I think of it. But I'd still like to know, if anyone has any stories!

I got bitten once on my finger by accident when I was hand feeding Freyja. I don't think she bit down as hard as possible. It hurt quite a bit. It dented my fingernail some and I bled a little.

I've only ever been bitten when I stuck my finger in their mouths on purpose. It hurts if they draw blood, but nothing your dad can't handle. If by chance a bite occurs, the only thing necessary is to disinfect the wound and put a band-aid on it.

Eren has nipped me before but the one time he really got me when I was hand feeding him. He missed and got my finger pretty good instead. Bled some, but nothing a band-aid couldn't fix. It just felt like a sharp pinch. You definitely feel it but it's not too bad. I imagine it would be a little worse when they're actually going for you and not food lol.

Haha, thank you! I'm pretty quick with taking my hand away when he jumps and hisses, but my dad isn't so fast. But hopefully Sully isn't too much of a monster for him-- he's just started trying to handle him. What a trooper.

I've been bit quite a few times, enough to be bloody. I've just rinsed with peroxide and bandaged and it was healed within a few days. Hopefully he doesn't bite your dad at all while you're at college!

I've been bit once by my old lizard when it was a Juvie. I was hand feeding and it accidentally bit and it hurt pretty bad but I just put a bandaid on it.

Alduin's nipped me a few times. Didn't hurt at all for any of them but then I have extremely high pain tolerance. He did accidentally bite a pencil and well... crushed the metal bit that holds the eraser. It feels funny for sure, and if they're old enough, you can definitely feel the teeth. Just disinfectant and bandage if it's really that bad. Alduin's never broken my skin with his mouth, but he has with his claws. Just be gentle and they're more likely to lick your fingers than nip.
