What do you keep your water crystals in?

I read that 1 oz of the crystals makes a little over a gallon of water crystals. So...do I just fill an empty milk gallon container with water and put 1 oz of crystals in that?? Are they difficult to "pour" out of the gallon jug? Or is there something better to keep them in?....like a tupperware container or something that I could just scoop them out with?

i used to buy flukers cricket chow. i kept those jars for the water crystals and they are perfect to store them in and pour them from. i would think any similar jar would work though. the important thing is to make sure they are sealed well.

I use a large 'mouthed'(or opening) lemonade pitcher which holds the whole gallon of crystals.

I use an empty 2 liter of soda. Instead of using the entire gallon. 4 teaspoons equals one 2 liter. But I only do that because I'm still starting my future colony. From extra small babies that I purchased about four months ago and are just hitting adult stages. But the next time I get some I'm definitely going to use the gallon. Or one of those in the cranberry juice containers that looks like a big jug with a handle

I use a six cup Rubbermaid container. I find it is easier to scoop some and put it in the bin. I had used a larger container when I first made them but it up took too much room. Remember, 1 fl. oz. = 2 tbsp., so you can adjust the amount to any size container.

I use one of those large canning jars (about the size spaghetti sauce comes in) and make up only that much at a time.

After reading this post I am a bit confused. I thought water crytals had to bought like fluckers in the store. Are you guys making your own? If so, how do you make it?

Valerie, you can make your own. You can get them at like home depot or a gardening center. Just make sure they dont have and fertilizers in it. You can also buy them off line. Hope this helps..

look around some places charge some obscene amounts of money. I was told that you can just add water when they start disappearing and the actual crystal is still there. I thought this was odd and not true but I have nothing to base it on. I bought a small pack to try so they have only been in there for 2 days.

Thanks a bunch. 1 oz eguals 2 Tbs so how would I mix the 2 TBs of dry crytals or do you just add water to your liking?
