What are your thoughts on canned crickets?

Right now I have a 3 month old bearded dragon (3.5 months to be exact) and he LOVES canned crickets. There was a time where I was waiting for my dubias to arrive in the mail and they were delayed, and I ran out of insects. All the local stores were completely out until next shipment. So I did what I could do, which was buy the mini canned crickets thinking "there's no way he'll eat these"... he LOVES them! They're his favorite food and he'll eat 20+ of them. Right out of a bowl like candy. They provide a lot of moisture and he really likes them so I want to know someone else's input. In addition to these, I feed him 3/8 inch dubias (with some smaller ones mixed in), buffalo worms (though he's becoming too big for them), and small superworms. He's really good at eating things that don't move (salad, squash, and bell peppers). He's also 9 inches in length. He eats around 40 insects a day give or take. What do you guys think? Are they good for him to eat? Also if anyone could tell me if 40 insects is a good number to feed a day let me know! Any advice is welcome

Live food is always better no matter what, at least it's not the freeze dried crickets he's eating which provides little to nothing for them.

Live food should still be the main portion of his diet so even with the canned crickets make sure to add live as well. You could use the canned for backup food or salad toppings most likely but never a staple.

As for 40 bugs a day, that sounds about the right amount since at this age they eat around three feedings of insects and 10-20 each feeding.

Its 1/3 of his daily feeding. I feed him 10 worms, 4 superworms, 10 - 20 dubias, and however many canned crickets he wants. Usually. Some days he doesn't get any canned crickets at all, but I just wanted to know if I should keep letting him eat them, thanks!

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
