What are the good UVB bulbs for Bearded Dragons nowadays?

I've been off this forum for quite a while (years), and was wondering how the UVB lighting scene is going. What are the really good bulbs right now?

Last I checked, the best were the Reptisun 10.0, the Arcadia D3 + 12%, and Reptiglo 10.0 for flourescents. And for Mercury Vapor Bulbs the best were Megarays, T-Rex, and Powersun, in that order. Are there any new bulbs that are better than these? Are all of these still good bulbs?

Also, how have things been going with compact flourescents? Are these good or bad? Are there still some health problems associated with these, or has that all been cleared up?

Also, what are some of the common lamps sold that aren't really good for Beardies?

I'm still using the reptisun 10.0.

Reptisun 10.0 and arcaida 12% are really the only good bulbs.

The reptiglos are not good bulbs.

CFL's still have their same problems.

Really the only bulbs I can recommend are the reptisun 10.0 and arcadia 12%.

Good to see the Reptisun 10.0s are still good, that's what I'm using right now.

What's the problem with the Reptiglo 10.0, though? Does is just not put out enough UVB, or is there something else wrong with it?

I have a Question about lighting When I first got my beardie & wondering about lighting, someone said the new Reval Lights were good to use for beardies. Is this so..are they as good as the Repti Sun & Arcadia?

I believe that the Reveal lights are just for lighting and only produce UVA but not UVB. Can you post a picture of what you're referring to?

I read back through your old posts and found that someone had posted in response to your question about using a GE Reveal bulb for a basking bulb, I think you misinterpreted what was said. Here's what was written:

the basking bulbs the pet stores sells are fine bulbs, but also, just a tip, white household bulbs that you use around the house work and get super cheap at the grocery store work just as well if not better sometimes. I have about a 70 gallon and i right now i use a regular 75 watt GE household Reveal lightbulb. it keeps her basking spot at 102 and the ambient temps on the hot side in the 90's.

Thsoe bulbs don't produce uvb, they would be better compared to a basking bulb, not a uvb bulb. But they use Neodynium, which you don't want in your bulb. You want a basking bulb that produces Bright White lights.

And at Akeath,

Reptiglo's have been linked to many health problems. The wavelength they produce isn't good for dragons.

Yes have been, it just conked out on me tonight. Using a regular household bulb now..a spiraly one, its not uvb...can i use this until i get a new reptile one?

You need a bulb to produce heat, and a bulb to produce UVB. IT doesn't sound like you have a uvb bulb. You NEED to get either the reptisun 10.0 or arcadian 12% asap.

I wouldn't use coil bulbs with dragons. Non-uvb or not they still can be dangerous.

Should a baby beardie have a reptisun 5.0 or 10.0?

Also where to get a cheap fluorescent fixture? The door to enclosure lifts at the top but i was going to attach the lamp to the underside of the lid.. any suggestions? I need one at least 36 inches or two 18 inch ones and the ones at the pet store are too expensive! I tried hardware stores but those didnt support T5 bulbs and I fear the walmart under the counter ones are not safe...
