What am I doing wrong?

thats the bulb i use, i had my beardie under a coil bulb for the first few days(bad advice from the petstore). when i noticed it was doing bad i went and got a repti-glo 10.0 strip bulb and he relished in it as soon as i fitted it

wait...i bought the coil bulb. it looks like an energy saving bulb, but its uvb only. Is this not ok? This is complicated!

Coils are bad, and so are ReptiGlo lights in general. :| Return in, and go with the ReptiSun.

i disagree that all repti-glo bulbs are bad.....this is down to research and my experience and my frineds exeperiences. repti-sun is better, but the repti-glo(strip ) light will be fine

i bought the coil not the strip and only bc 1. i dont have the strip fixture and 2. I am building a terrarium for it and don;t think I want to set that strip on wood.

i dont have a strip fixture either and mine is in a terrarium, its safe as ther is not a lot of heat coming from that bulb. all you need is the proper cables and wire it through some holes in your terrarium

is your terrarium screen? I have a 3 foot tall by 3 feet wide and like 20 deep. It has a wood frame that i just stained and clear cloated and screen for the rest.

You can also try the lamp stand that I think zoo med makes? Maybe figure something out there I know petsmart carries those.

got it figured it out. The bulbs are 49.99 at petsmart, but i can order at petmountain for 17 some thing.
