This is about my Frilled Dragon and not my Bearded Dragons, but it may help others and it may help if I get comments from Beardie owners... (Mods move this if not in the right spot)
I got home today and started my normal check and feed routine. My Juv Frilled Dragon, Draco, looked fine, until I picked him up. He was bloody. I freaked, he had a huge rectal prolapse.
I take great pains to have all my enclosures "right". All my dragons see a vet once a year. I love them like they are my kids.
I took him to the vet and we got the prolapse back in. This is essential! Your dragon will die if not treated! SHe had to put in purse string sutures, and he had to stay overnight.
I don't know what caused it, still searching for answers.
If you have a reptile, make sure you have a vet that can treat it when there is an emergency and make sure you have a way to pay for it if you have an emergency. I tore apart Draco's cage tonight and cleaned everything.
Hope I can get suggestions, comments or help someone else.
