Terrarium us all set up!

Slate tile with a nice basking spot at 105 degrees with 81 degrees on the cool side. Nice little hiding spot for sleepy time. All lights set at a timer for 7AM wake up and 9PM lights out.

UVB lamp installed inside the place runs the length and 7" from the basking spot.

2 dishes, one for greens and worms...the other for water, maybe(?)

I even just picked up a used Wine Cooler on CL for $35 for the reptiworms we're about to order in the next two weeks.

September 28th is the Reptile Expo and the two older kids and I will be heading there to pick up our new family member.

Sooooooo excited!!!!!

Will do!!

My kids want a male baby and they already picked a name: Kipling.

They are giddy about it as it's the first family pet.

Oh my gosh! You sound like me! I'm still setting up my new baby's home; will have it completed by next week. My daughter and I are headed to the Upscale Reptile Show in Sacramento on the 28th as well to pick up OUR new baby and also our first!

I'm actually the one getting the beardie baby; her Spider Ball Python baby will be waiting for her there as well.

We're soooo excited too and counting the days!! :blob5: :blob8:

Woo-hoo!!

Congratulations!

You do not want the water bowl inside the tank. Sitting water is easy access for bacteria to live. It also gives off humidity the beardie doesn't need. Everything else sounds great!

I actually think you're not supposed to refrigerate superworms, but I could be wrong.... you might want to look into that.

Reptiworms can be made to go dormant between 55-60 degrees F, which is why I bought a Wine Cooler. The temperature can be set to exactly that.

This way you can buy the Reptiworms in bulk and save $$$.

As everyone has said it sounds good. I just want to add that I'm super jealous that you got a wine cooler for $35!! Most I've seen have been $60+ even on CL. I have been keeping mine in a cooler lunch bag with ice packs. I had at least 24-30 reptis turn into flies, this batch alone. Which of course he wont eat. I must keep searching!

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
