Were can i buy some dubia's?

Welp i want to start a colony but some of the prices are outrageous with like 20$ for 5:20 male to female, and then charge u like 20$ shipping so is there anywere i can buy that will charge me say 5$ for the 5:20 ratio and 5-10$ for shipping? 20$ for both just seems way over priced.

Craigslist is really your only other option. Then you can avoid the shipping charges. Just make sure you use common sense when you meet them.

Sadly this is not an option since not many people who live around me like the term "roach" so and forum of it and people go crazy, Plus i also just checked southeasttexas and craigslist and found nothing.

I'm in Chicago, and and people from WI and IN contact me all the time from my CL ad to inquire about shipping. A lot of people who don't sell large scale will ship for lower fees, or just the actual cost of shipping itself. I ship my small starter colonies (15 adult females, 5 adult males, and 1/2 cup of assorted size nymphs) for like $7.50, cause that's all it costs me. So maybe you'll have better luck with that?

In the end, it's not cheap to set up a starter colony. You really have to put some money into it.

I'm not selling right now, sorry. And like I said, I just sell them local when I have extra. I was just trying to point out that they're gonna be kind of expensive no matter where you get them, but if you look around you will find some that you can afford. Besides, the $20 for 20:5 f:m that you mentioned is a better price then I offer. I said I have shipped for $7.50.

at the moment i have everything except water crystals, (plan on going to hobby lobby and getting a bag) and the roaches.

They offer 10 females and 3 males for $27.97, that price including the shipping AND heating pack. The packaging is completely lined with styrofoam from top to bottom and it arrives warm even to me in Erie, Pa where we've had 100 inches of snow so far...

The colony showed up in about 3 days after I had ordered them, all females were extremely fat and a few obviously pregnant. Within 1.5-2 weeks I had my first nymphs running around. I figure they would have been born sooner, but I underestimated what the internal temperature of the Tupperware bin would be without a heat source. Temperature since then, has been rectified...

thats kinda alot for only 13 little guys, i was looken for something like, 800-1000 + 15 females for like mabey 40$ with s+h, as i already got a small 100 pack that had 2 females and a few of the larges molted into males.
