Today Milla came along for the ride to the pet store to get more crickets. This was the fun part. She seemed to enjoy it, especially sitting on the top of the seat. She clung to my hand as we went to the pet store (a local independent one) and met one of the owners. Drove home and it was fine. But when we got home I decided a quick foray outside in the grass might be good. I don't have a leash for her yet, but that will change. She sat in the box, frozen in place for awhile, so I took her out and put her on the ground by my feet. She sat there for a minute or two, cocking her head at me. And then GONE. She took off quickly but I was not too alarmed. I let her stand there for a minute and then picked her up. Well she apparently was not having any of that because she jumped out of my hands and scurried under the front steps. Oh boy. She got waaaay under the steps and sat there. I, or something else, must have scared her. Entirely my fault for not having her on a leash. Eventually I pried up one of the pieces of wood and grabbed her with my hand in the snuggle sack. She did NOT like this! I stuck her in the box and in we went. She got time out in her viv for awhile.

The lesson here is that I need to only take her out with a leash. Going to go buy one now...

Hello,

Yeah, they CAN be fast, that is for sure. At least she isn't tiny because it is so much harder to find them when they are small & can wedge until smaller areas making it extremely difficult to get out of spaces. A leash would be a good idea!
She was definitely being a naughty lizard though. :D

I was surprised at how fast she is! Thank god she's not tiny! She's 2 or 3 years old thankfully.

I did get her out again when my s.o. got home. She went right into running around the room, looking for a spot to lean on. She does what a lot of other beardies I've seen do, which is perch in a corner and sleep with her belly pressed up against the wall. Goofy dragons. Currently she's snuggling in daddy's neck.

Hello,

They are pretty funny & have crazy ways of sleeping, too. It sounds like she has a lot of fun out of her tank, also exploring everywhere, trying to hide. LOL It sounds like she tries to climb the wall too.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
