I woke up to find that the top screen on the tote had been pushed through and there were some things from the cupboard that had fallen in. One big male was sitting on top of the tote looking at me doing "neener neener". I scooped him up and put him back. I don't think there was a mass escape, but I bet a few did.

Courtesy of the "war kittens", I'm sure.

We'll see how many I see and how many times I shriek. LOL!!!!!!

I don't think so. They don't like the light and most of them were on their egg crates. Poor little buggy dudes were probably terrified by this monster falling through the screen. LOL!!!!!

Escapees usually die in a few days or end up in the bathroom looking for water. I've never had a dubia get in the kitchen or bed. You often find then dead on their backs, dried crispy.

I also figure, like the crickets, I'll see the war kittens playing with them long before they end up somewhere else. LOL!!!!

I had one dubia escape. Found it a couple hours after I cleaned the bin, on the kitchen counter. When I went to pick it up, it all but crawled onto my hand. I think it wanted to go back lol

I also had a red racer escape. Found that one crawling up my wife's throat when I was talking to her. Needless to say, she kinda got a bit upset with me

I wouldn't worry to much, if 1 or a few escaped, they wouldn't make it out side their perfect home's. I have had that happen from time to time and no worry's here.

Yea i have had a few escape when i clean. They always end up dead usually. Its getting warmer now here though so they may live longer outside of there bin enviroment. I have found them under the shower rug before which scared the crap out of me.

Have you ever tried the Rapashy Insect Gutload (I think that's what it's called). I hear it's pretty good! Feeding and watering the insect preys is so important IMO, but most people overlook it. It might be one of the contributing factor of malnourishment. People say why is it so important to water your prey? Every metabolic function that happens in side the body requires water.

interesting and will note that advice but not sure what it has to do with escaped dubia's though, but i do personal thank you for that advice, am going to try it.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
