I got this job last year and it has devoured all my time. I find my self getting lazier and lazier, so I have decided to down size to one Beardie....

But I am soooo torn, I like them so much. But I know they need more attention and I am only getting busier at work.


I wish I could win the lotto...

I'm sorry! I understand what you must be going thru. I thought last year I was going to need to downsize and just the wondering which one I could part with was heartbreaking. My reasons for needing to were different...it was for me the cost until I started raising my own feeders...but the heart felt decision that I was needing to make I'm sure felt much like your right now. I just wanted to wish you luck and hope that you are able to find whoever a great home.

It does suck, but I don't want to find myself not caring for them properly. I've been working almost 11-12 hours a day 6 days a week and when I get home its already late. I think I am just going to keep one of my Beardies, but I don't know if I can do if I can choose.

Thank fully though, I have friends with beardies and they have always expressed interest.

I am so sorry you have to decide. I am sure it is very hard. At least you realized you don't have the time and I hope some of your friends can your beardies so you can at least see them occasionally. I do understand exactly what you are going through. We have three beardies and there is absolutely no way we could have more because of the time issue and we are retired.

Maybe you can give it to a friend willing to take care of it. Then you would be able to visit your beardie whenever you want. I would hate trying to decide which one to keep, I would feel so guilty picking one over the other. In the long run though, its probably better for your beardie to give it to someone who can give it all the attention it needs.

As a mother of 2 very busy 2 legged daughters, and a house full of 4 legged kids who homeschools, is a Girl Scout leader for 2 troops, teaches craft stamping classes, and tries to keep a household somewhat organized and tidy (that is a very liberal somewhat), I have found that sleep is highly over-rated, anyway- teeheehee. I can truly empathize with the difficulty of giving up anything, most certainly a treasured pet, that is important in your life. Do you have anyone that could lend a helping hand- possible one of your friends with beardies or a responsible young neighbor that might enjoy learning about the husbandry of beardies?

I think we got it down now. We are going to re home one of my animals to my buddy and keep the rest. We are also gonna hold back on the breeding for a while.

Its just I am in making lots of advancements in my career right now. And that means lots and lots of time working. I am actually thankful I have no children yet, as this current schedule would surly cause issue at home!

But, soon I will have my very own home. Then I can expand again!
