I'll be getting our first beardie in a few weeks from a local breeder. They are almost 3 months since they hatched. Got the place set up for him already. Got a 50w halogen bulb for basking. My only probles are for his uvb. Went to all the hardware stores, petshops and i cant find reptisun 10.0. It's very frustrating. All i could find were exo-terra Solar Glo 125w and 160w. And this brand called reptiglo 10.0

I know reptisun and arcadia are the only best options available but can'f find them. Will the exo terra do? Tried to get them online but they don't ship. By the way i'm from Brunei, a small country in Borneo. Temps here range from 75F to 90F day time and not less than 77F at night time. Humidity is around 66% on average.

Will house here at the patio in a 3x2x2 wooden cabinet, drilled in additional vents and added sliding glass windows.

So, again will exo terra do? If not i might not adopt her then.

Just make sure you bake the wood and bricks/rocks at 200F in the oven for 1/2 hr to kill any bugs/parasites living in them. Then you'll be all set. Your dragon is going to need ALOT of ventilation, so you're going to need to make larger vents along the sides for cross ventilation. There are mesh tanks you can buy, too, not expensive, not sure if they have them in your area. Just make sure your baby doesn't get too hot, it's good that you can come home at noon to check the temps in the tank, but I'd check them every hour while on the patio to make sure they stay at 105F.

Make sure you give your dragon a 20 min bath daily when you get home, that's for hydration to keep him healthy.

Will definitely keep you ladies posted. So excited already for the weekend. Have to return the 160w, as its not compatible with the fixture.(Max wattage for the fixture is 150w ).

Do i need to get it replaced?? The 160w solar glo is just right on top of the enclosure and is 20inches from the bed of the enclosure.

There is a 120 or 125W Solar Glo that might be better as you don't such heat in what you're making. See if you can replace it.

Ok. Hopefully the lady at the shop will replace it. If not, will add more ventilation then.

You need the same ventilation that is showing in the picture you put up here. Nothing less than that, or he'll cook. It doesn't take much to make the heat way too hot for them.

Yup make sure he doesn't cook like a corndog. You can tell if he is hot if he gets pretty bright and has his mouth open.

I got the 160 bulb replaced with a 125. Enclosure is nearly done. Will post pictures soon. Thank you all for you advice. Really appreciate it.

After a couple of months of being offshore i finally have him. Think he is a hypo orange. Biggest of the clutch. Gothim last night. Picture is of him basking on warm water. Has no mood to eat yet.

Pretty! He might take a day or two to eat, but he will. You'll be surprised how much a baby can eat!

Give it a try, if not try tomorrow. Relocation stress is a very real stress for beardies that are shipped or just are in a new environment. He looks healthy, that's for sure.

Got a colony of dubias ready beforehand. Hopefully he grows big and healthy. Still thinking if names. My 3 yearold daughter has been calling him spider. Hehehe

Here he is tucked in a shirt i wore 2days ago. He opened his eyes when the shutter made a sound. Did not eat today. Hopefully he does tomorrow. Good night.

Just keep offereing and see what he does. The shirt idea is a great one, he'll sleep with your scent and hopefully want to snuggle with you. And Spider sounds like a good name, your daughter would be thrilled!
