So to start off I'm a little paranoid as a pet owner and especially as a first time dragon owner. so my concern is that my baby (his name is Reginald) is like lifting up his front left and back right hands/paws so that they are not touching or barely touching what he is on. I tried to get good pictures of this and also got a video bc he kind of shakes them as well. I had just given him a bath so I don't know if that's why but as far as I know, his tank is good and his lighting and heat are good. Is it possible that he burned them some how? I took him to the vet today(not bc of this) and the vet told me I was doing all the right things and gave my baby a clean bill of health. the only thing he didn't do was check for parasites bc he didn't poop while we were there but I will be giving them a sample when I can. I am just worried for my baby and would like some advice. I've only had him for about a week now but I already love him so much. I'm sorry if I'm over reacting.

Hi there, is he doing it on all surfaces or just the hammock ? Be aware that it's easy for dragons to snag their nails in the mesh, [ so he might be trying to unsnag his feet ] I would remove the hammock.

Can you list the exact type + brand of bulbs that you use and post pics of his entire set up ? Is he eating well and do you use a calcium dust ? Do you have the video where he's shaking his foot ?

he eats great I can usually get him to have a few good bites of veggies and he eats plenty of worms and crickets I use the calcium dust pictured above his uvb bulb is not covered by anything. his temperature gradient is great. I have the video but I don't know how to post it. I'm not exactly sure if he is doing it on all surfaces.

That's good that he's eating well, a real bonus for a small + new baby. :) Your bulb should be upgraded to a Reptisun 10.0 soon since it produces much better uvb. I'd still remove the hammock.

When you say he shake his feet, do you mean that they tremble or that he lifts + shakes them ? Maybe someone can help you post the video here.

he lifts and shakes them. Also I have the space for a second of the same uvb bulb would adding a second one make up for it not being 10.0 bc idk if they make the 10.0 for the size my lamp holds.

If he's lifting them then there may be something bothering his feet, and I suspect the hammock. Unless he's doing an arm wave....do you know ehat an arm wave is ? A very slow, deliberate lifting of the foot like a wave.

As for the lights, you still need the 10.0, just look for it on Amazon or Dr. Foster + Smith or other company. The problem wit the 5.0 is that it doesn't produce enough uvb to reach down in to the tank so having 2 won't matter.

<<< I STRONGLY recommend returning the 5.0%UVB tube and exchanging it for a 10.0%UVB (or higher , ie Arcadia 12%UVB tube) as 5% uvb is not adequate for a bearded dragon , is more suitable for skinks .
I recommend mounting the uvb lamp's hood UNDER the lid , so it's bit closer to the basking spot and you need to have the basking spot about 8 inches from the tube so let him get sufficient UVA and UVB to thrive.

<<< the Fluker's is not suitable to give your hearded dragon.

INSECTS : LIVE HIGH QUALITY
>> BSF maggot ( phoenix worms )
>> blowfly gents
>> silkworms (at his size/age) I recommend 1 inch to 1.5 inch long silkworms.
>> crickets or roaches or locusts *
* gutloaded with high calcium fresh greens + fresh carrot and I find Repcal Adult Beardie Pellets are a great cricket food (straight from the bottle).
* lightly dusted with calcium most days , lightly dusted with calcium + reptile vitamins (I use Aristopet ReptiVite) on weekend.

NO Mealworms , NO Superworms until he is about 1 year old (and only ever as treats).

he eats great I can usually get him to have a few good bites of veggies <<<< fresh grated veg and fresh sliced greens offered daily - NO FLUKERS BITES - these are junk !

If it's associated with a headnod and if he is alternating the arms with nods between - he's likely seeing a "ghost-beardie" and "talking" to it.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
