Ok, I have a question but since it isn't an emergency I'll just post it under general forums. My second oldest dragon Tiny is a bit strange. I think it's strange but I'll let you guys be the judges. Basic husbantey is As follows. We have him in a 40 gal. Breeder tank with the 10.0 reptisun UVB bulb and a heating light. He eats fine, ten to twenty superworms a day, plus several salads. He's about a year and a half old. We dust his food four times a week with calcium and twice a week with vitamins. He gets roughly 5 hours of sun a week depending on the weather(which hasn't been that great lately). He's on a tile substrate and he poops once, sometimes twice a day. He gets a bath every other day for about half an hour to an hour because he absolutely loves swimming in the tub. In his tank there is a hammick, a tree thing, a giant rock, and his food dish. He also has a pillow that I made him.
Here's what I think is weird but my fiancée doesn't agree. We measure his temps with a temp gun as well as a probe. On his cool side it measures between 70-80 and his hot side is between 80-95 with his basking spot at 99. But it goes up if it is hotter in my room. I know this is on the low side, believe me I know.
Our issue is this. He is fine all day every day. Still eating, still pooping, still basking for short periods of time, doesn't hardly glass dance, or anything. According to our vet, he's in perfect shape. No parasites or anything else is wrong with him. Every time the heat in any spot goes above 102, including his basking spot, he will totally flip out. We've had his temps set at the correct temps awhile ago but then he started not eating and hiding in his cool side all day and this is the only thing the vet could think of after checking everything else so it hasn't been the correct temps in awhile now. He still favors the colder side and will only really hang out on his hot side after he gets done eating. Honestly, it's so bad that if my room gets to hot, he will flip out until our air conditioner gets turned on and he goes back to being our normal happy dragon. We check his temps with the gun even with the air conditioner on in our room and they are about the same. (we usually only turn the air conditioner on if it gets really hot in our room) it doesn't seem as if the temps are messing up anything digestivly, the poops are still well formed and quite large, and the vet seems to think everything is okay. My question is will his temperature problems cause any health problems. Out of our four dragons, he's the weirdest dragon we've ever owned and even though he is our second oldest he is our biggest weighing in at almost 600 grams. He's our biggest male and we really love him I just want to make sure he's healthy.
