When I joined this forum 3 months ago I joined b/c I wanted to learn as much as I could about bearded dragons so that I would know everything I needed to know when Scarlett came home. As a new owner I had TONS of questions and concerns.. I still have tons of questions.. The people on this site have been more than informative and very helpful and have played a vital part in making me the best slave ever :lol: (well maybe not the best ever).. Anyways.. The reason I'm posting this thread is b/c I'm a little disappointed with all the rudeness that I've been witnessing lately.. Everyone is here for the same reason to get advice and give advice.. But there are ways to go about doing so without being rude or forcefully pushing your opinion on people. Some people join this site that have gotten bad info from others and may have sand as a substrate or may not have the right type of bulb..the list goes on.. Well we all know that sand is bad but the first thing out of your mouth shouldn't be SAND IS BAD!!!! GET IT OUT OF YOUR VIV ASAP!!!! I mean how would that make u feel? A nicer way of introducing them to the bad things about sand would b.. May I make some suggestions? Another thing I've notice is criticizing someones grammar or spelling.. This is not school we aren't here to critique how someone spells or talks.. And to those of you that post threads with questions and then get mad b/c someone responds with an answer that you don't like so you go off on them.. Stop and think "Well I did post this thread asking this question so this is the response I got" If you don't agree with the answer they gave you maybe you should question them a little I'm sure they wouldn't mind giving an explanation.. Anyways.. I'll get off my soapbox this morning just please remember to THINK BEFORE YOU TYPE.. We are all here for the SAME reason and everyone deserves respect.. Well said. I feel the exact same way. It has really turned me off coming to the board as regularly as I was in the past. I hope it gets better soon.

Thankfully I haven't been a victim of this.. I seem to always find myself defending someone.. but I do notice what u are talking about as far as it happening in waves..

I agree with Quigleysmom it is why I have stoped coming on as much. But as Gail said it comes in waves. It will pass soon. No longer than I have been on here I have seen it come and go and have seen similar posts to yours.

I tend to be very blunt and direct. I get how that can be taken for rudeness.
Sometimes its just in the perception of the reader. The written word is fluid for the person reading.
The author may not get the reaction they intend.

Thats why I hate text messaging lol b/c u always end up in a stupid pointless fight b/c what u said was taken completely the wrong way.. So yes that can happen to.. Some people are easily offended..
