So, a little back story… I got Captain Jack (the yellow/orange guy) at 3 months as a bday present from my brothers last year. Lol it was between him and a hedgehog and since Jack didn’t hiss at me he came off as more friendly. Turns out he’s been very friendly and cuddly, a wonderful pet. :) Now, we got a new baby back in August (because they’re soooo freakin irresistible) at 1 month old and we’ve named him Zod. He was supposed to be a girl… but we can’t fault him for being a boy lol. Zod is also very cuddly with us…. but detests Jack. Zod, since he was about 2 months old has been head bobbing himself silly whenever he sees Jack. So, we’ve kept them out of sight from each other as much as we can and only have one out at a time. Jack has been pretty much indifferent to Zod’s existence and has been brumating since October. The other day he woke up and we had Jack out for some long overdue cuddles and this is the conversation Jack and Zod had when they saw each other…… lol……

Sorry if the vid doesn't work here's the link incase:

This is the first time I have ever seen Jack wave and he head bobs very rarely. Zod head bobs all the time and used to wave all the time as a baby. I know they won’t ever get along and we try to keep them out of sight of each other so they don’t stress out. But I am fascinated by the behaviors that these critters sometimes show. :) I know Zod is pissed but what do you guys think Jack is actually saying... is it a submissive behavior?

Ah i love that video- head bobbing is so cute. my beardie is a girl so i've never witnessed it first hand- all she's ever done is wave. jack is waving to let Zod know he doesnt want any trouble. Jack obviously thinks Zod is boss awwwww. is Jack definately a boy?

Yah I'm pretty sure they're both boys. I had ppl on here verify Jack was a boy by the usual dragon bum pic lol I'm sure he enjoyed having his behind posted all over the internet. It's funny that Zod is half his size and already is the boss. Jack must have woken up and thought "who the heck is angry dude!?" lol He usually doesn't care at all about other dragons and i've never seen him wave to anyone. We had him in the pet store one time and a male in there went crazy angry and Jack just stared at the heat lamps in the tank lol oblivious to the angry guy behind the glass.

I loved the video. I have a male that is becoming a "man" and the head bobbing is all I see anymore lol. He has a fit every night after dinner where he glass dances and head bobs for about 30 min :D

Amigo is becoming so "manly" now too and he headbobs and stomps his feet all the time. He even does it to the fish tank. I laugh at him when he does it to the dog though because the dog just looks like "what the ____?" and then walks off. Luckily Cadmus is just starting it.

That was a very cute video.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
