Waving and curling tail

Hi. We are new beardie parents. We have had our beardie two weeks. Draco had a strange poop. Now he is suddenly waving a lot and curling his tail where it touches his head. He will wave one arm and then the other. He has climbed atop his plant and has his head stretched towards the uvb with his mouth open. Normal behavior?

He drinks water and is fed dubias. Other items to note...for the two weeks we had him, he had a compact uv light. We read about problems with the compacts so we bought a hood with the tube uv light and just put it on yesterday. His poop this morning was normal urate followed by normal poop then a gel like substance.

He sounds like a she …. likely see's her own reflection and is saying howdie to the ghostly beardie who is always staring at her and armwaving back at her.

I agree, he is probably a she and waving in submission to her “friend.”

Make sure to offer appropriate greens now before she gets older and needs greens, but won’t eat them.

Thank you. What about the tail curl? Like a scorpuon.

Also, he/she eats greens and drinks water from dish. She likes green beans and endive. Wont eat carrots or cactus.

Sometimes they will curl them for balance or whatever, I don’t think it is that big of a deal.
