Wave has fallen in love. With her UVB light.
New viv; new, longer UVB - got the bulb and the fixture from beardeddragon.co, so it can go inside the enclosure and none of that pesky screen-blocking going on now! Set that all up, it's fine, looks great. Made sure everything was no closer than 6" to it, which meant moving the basking branch forward a little, and the hammock downwards. The hammock is at the right corner, with the UVB going across the hammock's far left side and then across the rest of the tank. That's the closest she can get to it; about 7".
Wave has decided to go to that far left corner of the hammock, and stretch herself up against the glass, so that her head is about an inch from the UVB light. It's actually just to the right of the fixture, but still very close. And she's staring at it. Do I need to move the hammock down further still? She hasn't been doing this for long - just moved over there a few minutes ago, and it's about time for lights out for the night anyway. But I'm concerned that she might do the same thing for longer periods in future - could she damage her own eyes, or is she unlikely to with the option to move away?
(Basking light has also been moved slightly to accomodate the other movement, but temps are where they generally are; it's about 106 on the branch, between 98-101 on the hammock per the temp gun at different times, 81 currently on the cool side. So don't think she's trying to get closer to the heat or anything like that.)
