Water dish dilemma

I was wondering if it's completely essential for a water dish in my dragons tank. I know that sounds like a dumb question  , but i read somewhere that beardies get most of their water from feeders and veggies.
Just wondering!

They're not supposed to have water, they don't need it. Some people put shallow dishes in when their beardy is shedding to help it out, and that's about it. Or to let them cool down whenever they want. I'd just find it a hassle to clean it every day. Other than that they don't drink.

Some will drink, but most won't. I've never seen mine touch the water dish unless she was running through it chasing a Discoid.

Well, no that's a lie... she pooped in it once.

I provide every dragon under my roof with a water dish. From egg to ancient they all have 1.
They will soak themselves for the most part. O the rare occasion I have seen them drink but its rare.

Actually, they do need water.

Bearded dragons can become dehydrated without water, especially since they are basking in the heat most of the day.
Some people use water dishes, while others don't. It is a personal preference.
Most beardies will not drink from standing water. This is why it is very important that we as their caretakers make sure they get water in other ways.
Bathing/soaking your beardie in water a few times a week is one of the best ways to keep them hydrated. They absorb moisture through their vent.
You can also add water to their veggies for added moisture. Some people even give their beardies water through a dropper or syringe.

I don't use a water dish. I spray his greens and/or put enough water in the salad dish to just cover the bottom. I put a water dish in once and he drank a lot when I first put it in, but then i left it in there and he never seemed interested in it again, so I took it out. He doesn't drink in the bath, either. But I think he's pretty well hydrated.

Ive always had the water dish in and mine never ever touched it. Until a week ago when she started drinking from it.
So keep it in, all dragons differ and yours may or may not ever use it, but my philosophy is. Were not always around, so who knows what they do when were not watching?

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
