water and dusting veggies

Hey Everyone.
I am a first time Beardie owner with a 7-8 month old rescue. These forums have been very helpful, along with the books I have been reading.

I have two questions regarding feedings:

1. I dust the crickets before I put them in his cage BUT do I need to dust his veggies too?

2. I soak his veggies in a water bath before I feed him, but since he is not used to me or my place, he has not been eating a whole lot. His previous owner had a water dish in his setup, but I have read they Beardies rarely drink from a dish because it is not natural for them.
How can I make sure he is staying hydrated while he is getting used to me? Spraying water on him 2-3 times a day? Using squeezed berry juice in the water dish to trick him into drinking from it?

Other can depend on the calcium dust are you using and what veggies are you feeding? If you are feeding mostly high calcium greens (collard, turnip, mustard) then dusting them could cause more harm than good. In such case just dusting the crickets should be fine.

I offer water - the only reason no to would be if the dragon constantly makes a mess of it, or you humidity goes up, in wich case the ventilation probably needs to be improved. But the dragon may never drink it. Dripping water on the face with a dropper or a spritzer will work if he will lick it up. A bath will work if he drinks in the bath. You could also order some hornworms - they are super juicy.
