Wanting to Comission: Stegosaurus Costume

I'm envisioning a simple afair that would velcro under his belly, across his chest, and under the back of his tail, with some cute spikes running along his back and down his tale.
This is my little man, this is his dream. To roam the forests of my living room floor as an armored Stegosaur; going where he wants, and fearing no predator.

I know there's a lot of folks older and more experienced than me around here- If anyone knows a good bit about sewing and has the time or interest let me know if you'd like to help me make a sweet stegosaurus costume!! It would be so cute!

If I make your beardie one though, Dudley is getting a matching one. Actually, I think he would rather be a pterodactyl... He's convinced he can fly!

well the basic logistics of it are pretty simple. I went with stegosaurus because you could make some short stubby cute spikes to cover their spines, just do it in two sections one for their back and a smaller one for their tail. I thought of wings but I can't help but think they would somehow drag on the ground if he walked around or something, which i wouldn't want. Simpler equals better equals cuter right?

Let me take some dimensions, I actually spent a little while designing a pattern that I thought would work. I don't know which type of material would be best or what the difference is between which type of materials would go better against their skin and stuff, but I don't know if felt would be rubbbed the wrong way on their scales and stuff, or start pulling out little bits at a time type of thing?? Also so the cute beardie side spikes could be seen along the side of the costume Anyway here is my pattern: Stegosaur one

I was just thinking to put some velcro squares on the tabs there and fasten them around to each other. The spikes could be felt I bet though since they wouldn't touch his skin.

I used Felt on my beardies Pancakes Costume, I could try to make one up for you after the holidays, I just attached it the same way, I got Velcro straps and just put one loosely around his tummy and his tail. Stegosaurus sounds so cute though!! ^^
