Walking weird

ive posted about this before when my baby was younger, but now that he's older and he does a lot of exploring, I'm more concerned about it.
Lupin almost always walks with his hands floded over. I've asked the vet and some long time beardie owners, and they say they've never seen this sort of behavior before. It absolutely does not hinder his ability to walk or run very quickly and he has never once acted in pain because of it but I am just curious if this is something I should be concerned about.

Some photos of him doing this

Hi there....that is almost certainly from calcium deficiency/MBD. What exact brand + type of lights do you have, how often, what kind of calcium do you use and is it with or without D3 ? Some dragons become deformed to an extent and walk in a manner that is termed the " army crawl. Some beardies are more susceptible to it for some reason but it would be good to go over these things to make sure he's getting more than average calcium + UVB exposure.

I was very afraid that this might be the case. He has the repti sun UVB bulb and has had his food dusted with Calcium+D3 almost everyday. I've been taking the best care of him i possibly can since i got him, but this is something that he has been doing since i got him as a hatching. He has absolutely no other signs of calcium deficiency, which is something the vet also said. Maybe not getting enough calcium was a problem he had at the pet shop and he's gotten better but he's just still walking on his hand?

Hello,

That is a possibility that he was born with a slight issue & just never overcame it. You are using the Reptisun 10 tube bulb? How close is it to him & is there any plastic or screen in between him & the light? How often do you replace the bulb?
You are giving him calcium with D3 7 days a week, just once per day?
Does he have any other type of issues or deformities that you can see? He is a little cutie. :D

I am using the tube bulb. Right now he can come within threee or four inches of it. Absolutely nothing is in the way to block the uvb. I have yet to replace the bulb yet because it's only a few months old, but I'll be replacing it once it hits 6 months old. I also bring Lupin outside now that it's warm enough and he basks in natural sunlight for 20-30 every couple days. He gets the calcium once or twice on his feeders a day plus it's on his veggies.
He has absolutely no other problems. He's always alert, very adventurous, has a healthy appetite, and no other physical problems.

Well, you're taking good care of him and his set up sounds good. Just be sure that the UVB bulb is at least 6" away from him. Taking him outside is good, too so keep that up. It seems that some beardies are pre- disposed to certain problems so he has this condition. It sounds like he's reasonably healthy + happy otherwise and he can still live a long life. :)

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
