This will be Felix's first big outing and my fingers are crossed that the weather is nice enough for him to be out on my shoulder! I've never been to a walk like this so it will also be my first time. I know there are several members here who have taken their Beardies somewhere other then their backyard and I'd appreciate any advice or heads up on anything you can think of!

I bought this exact carrier from the pet store today: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0002ASBU4/ref=asc_df_B0002ASBU41992664?tag=thefind0045299-20&creative=395261&creativeASIN=B0002ASBU4&linkCode=asn I'll have him sleep in it for the next week and keep it in his tank during the day so he can get very used to it and use it as safety box if he gets too stressed out.

Also bought two leashes Version 1 and Version 2. Neither one looks comfortable but I'll need a couple days until I can figure out which one to return. I've seen pictures of both being used so if you also have any input on which is better/worse please share!

The only thing I know about this walk is that it prevents me from leaving my house, since I live right off Theo Wirth I have to back track and go through Robbinsdale to get to the freeways :/

I would just be really careful, almost everyone will have a dog with them, which could be problematic if your guy isn't fond of them. That looks like a good carrier to put him in if he needs to hide though, nice and closed in on most sides.

Ooo, yeah I bet it's an incredible inconvenience to anyone living in the area. I hope everyone is good about cleaning up after their dogs. That would be one disgusting mess otherwise. I didn't look at the route they take but I assumed they would do it in a big park somewhere, then use bike paths and trails to walk in. At least it's just a day thing and not a weekend or overnight event

I'd have my family and my dog with too so there'd be plenty of eyes keeping a lookout. Felix isn't in the least bit fazed by my dog even when he's poking him trying to play but he's never been around another dog or multiple dogs before. I'll have his leash on the whole time and I don't trust anyone to hold him. (On that topic it's incredible how skittish some people are! I've let two people hold him in the past and each time he's just moved his head a bit or taken a step and they freak out and nearly drop him. One was almost in tears thinking he was going to bite her! I guess it's all just a matter of what you've been exposed to in the past.)
