Vomiting

Hi all,
Kevin (less than a year, maybe about 6 or 7 months) threw up once last week and I didn't think much of it because she had gorged on crickets (it turns out crickets had been hiding in her log, so I think she was eating extra). Anyway, it just looked like mucusy undigested bug so I figured she was stressed or ate too much and it came back up instead of compacting (thank god). But today I went home for lunch and their was another chunk of vomit. Again, undigested bug and mucus stuff, no blood or anything funky looking. I am wondering - could this be if she has had a couple of crickets too big for her? I try to keep them small but they keep molting, and sometimes I don't manage to keep the 'big' ones out (they aren't huge, just bigger than the 'medium' ones I buy.

PS I am on a limited budget, but my university vet teaching hospital has two reptile certified vets. I am planning to take her in soon anyway for a first check up, as she has never been before (previous owner never had any sort of health issues with her).

How big is Kevin ? A 6-7 month old that is small might have a problem, but a larger one of the same age would not. How late do you feed him and what are the temps. in the tank ? Any pics you can post of Kevin + his tank ?

She is about a foot long. I do not have a weight as I haven't got a scale that small (it's at my parents house ).

She eats crickets, both live and freeze dried. She also gets a variety of veggies mixed with dragon food.

I just now got a radar thermometer so I do not have the accurate temperature but the little gauge stick on says 90-105ish during the day and 70-80 at night.

It may have been a combo of large crix as well as the freeze dried. Those really no good, harder to digest because they contain no moisture. Stick with live crix, and if any are too large you can always take the head off [ and still feed her that part . just broken up for easier digestion ] Be sure to offer water via syringe or spray bottle on her snout, or if she likes baths she may have a drink. Vomiting dehydrates them. Good that you have a vet to consult with, take a fecal sample when you go.

It's important to have accurate temperature. The range the gauge is reporting is OK but they can be quite inaccurate. It's also important to provide proper UVB exposure. What do you have in place for UVB lighting and how far is it from her basking spot? Proper lighting can affect digestion and overall health so I'd look to that first.

It's a nice luxury to have a teaching hospital where you are. They can often provide great advanced diagnostics and care when needed.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
