Hi everyone - any help and advice you can give is greatly appreciated. I'll lead by saying I'm taking Forks to the vet in about 5 hours, and couldn't get him in sooner.
This morning I was home from work (sick myself) and heard noises coming from my dragons tank. My dragon is making (terrifying) croaking noises, with his head in the air like he's gagging. I think he has a respiratory infection, and it's getting worse. His throat also looks swollen.
Over the last few days he's been quite stressed (but nothing super noticable for him) and has had some weird bowel movements (possibly they were vomit in hindsight). However he hasn't been making any noise or doing anything like today.
Some quick background - Forks is a rescue, and my first dragon (I know, what was I thinking?). He's stunted in size, and almost lacks appetite completely. Over the four months we've had him, I've taken him to the vet several times, put him through parasite treatments etc. Vet gave him a clean bill of health, despite his small size and lack of appetite.
Since we got him, he's grown from about 40 grms to over 100. There's been a lot of ups and downs in getting him to eat. His last owner (neglectful) assures me that he is almost two years old.
His tank set up is vet approved, and also approved on previous posts on this forum. Due to his lack of an appetite, we've currently got him on a repashy/home cooked vegetable mix fed through a syringe that he's been eating fine for the past two months.
Please, any suggestions or ideas on how to keep him comfortable until I can get him to the vet. I'll admit to being a bit panicked! Thanks everyone.
